Not Parent Approved: The hilariously irreverent family card game that's like Cards Against Humanity, but for kids
With the massive popularity of Cards Against Humanity, it was only a matter of time before someone created a G-rated (ok, G-rated-ish) adaptation that pays homage to its irreverent mastery. Enter Not Parent Approved, a truly hilarious, very clever family card game that should be the breakout hit of the upcoming holiday season.

Think of Not Parent Approved as a cross between the old Match Game (aw, we miss you Charles Nelson Reilly), Apples to Apples and CAH, in which all the players try to pick the most apt red card in their hand to match blue card statements like, I popped a zit and _________ came out of it;  or _________ will definitely be at my BFF's birthday party; or You think my farts stink? Well yours smell like _________.

Your answers may include the tooth fairy, Taylor Swift, vampire bunnies, your substitute science teacher's sweaty potbelly, grownups, gymnastic leotards that ride up your butt, or a specially trained robot that tortures annoying family members.

Go around the table and take turns judging your favorite answer. Whoever wins -- well, you'll be likely laughing too hard to keep count.

The creators definitely channeled their inner 12-year-old perfectly with plenty of poop and fart jokes so obviously you need to be cool with potty humor here. I'd say it's great for kids over 8; though a 6- or 7-year-old could easily participate on someone else's "team," mainly because they may not get some of the bigger words or a lot of the pop culture references. But you have to be okay with your kids laughing about boogers and such. Which, I definitely am.

Oh, and my kids' favorite part? Deciding who goes first; as per the official Not Parent Approved rules, this is determined by hosting a burp-off.

Of course you can skip that part if you want.

You can find Not Parent Approved at our affiliate Amazon, or your local indie toy store and learn more about it at the company's website. Here's hoping they come out with a second card deck soon. We want more!
