This time of year I start to get a little stuck. The excitement of Valentine's Day is gone, light is still limited, the weather is frigid. So I started browsing Etsy for globes and found some outrageously wonderful options from California artist Wendy Gold that at least get my mind traveling, if not my body.

Personally I prefer the styles that still maintain the original map imagery of the globe in some way instead of covering it completely like a canvas, but really there's a lot to love here. I think her art globes make seriously special gifts for new parents, weddings and anniversaries, grads, super special teachers, or just for yourself, should you need a special new object to knock you out of mid-winter ennui.
