When we opened the book to the line, "I am Sally, the greatest, toughest astronaut who ever was!" my five-year-old turned to me with a dropped jaw. "You mean girls can go to space?" she asked, and I gladly found the portrait and biography in back, anxious to explain how brave Sally really was. It's so marvelous to read a book that makes my daughter ask questions and think about all the possibilities awaiting her.
