Though my sleep-addled brain may never forgive him for Fox in Socks, that tongue-twister of a story my son requested night after night, there is no question that Dr. Seuss' collection of fanciful stories include some of our very favorite characters and verse.
In honor of Dr. Seuss' 107th birthday, we've pulled together some of our very favorite items for those of us who can't get enough of those magical, Seussical creations. -Christina
It's all about the books, isn't it, which is why I especially love The Retro Baby's Cat in the Hat tee (above) which has that classic title front and center.
When it's not possible to take your favorite hardcovers with you, check out the Dr. Seuss Interactive Books for the iPhone or iPad which are simply wonderful. They'll even read aloud to your kids if you can't do it for the fourth time.
The coolest kicks in town for babies or adults have got to be from the Converse Dr. Seuss collection which launched last year and are guaranteed to get double takes on the playground. Liz featured them on The Today Show back in August, and let's just say Meredith is a fan too.
Bumkins offers a range of adorable, affordable, easy-care bibs including a whole Seuss collection. Even if you can't get your tot to eat one fish. Ha.
There's no shortage of licensed plush characters out there but we're partial to MiYim's eco-plush Seuss Characters which are made from untreated and unbleached cotton, colored with natural dyes, and totally non-toxic. No Lorax yet, but this Horton is pretty darn cute.
The Cat in the Hat I Can Do that Game is wonderful for kids from about 3 and up because it gets them moving, skipping, crawling and balancing. And hopefully not destroying the house like the real Cat in the Hat. (From our affiliate amazon)
I may think I've figured out green eggs and ham with my handy bottle of green food coloring, but the Green Eggs and Ham Cookbook turns this, and many other Dr. Seuss-inspired dishes, and turns them into real recipes. Finally, I can find out what's in a Pink Yink Ink Drink!
