I can't believe I'm already starting to bookmark holiday gifts but yep, that's just what I'm doing. And right in time, I discover Happy Chickadee, an online shop featuring absolutely wonderful clothing, accessories, toys, and gear for (mostly) baby girls, all carefully selected by mom-and-mom team Amber Spinello and Shari Brownfield.
What really caught my eye are the stunning wooden blocks from mom-run Hiccup Inc. Handmade right here in the US with from solid wood blocks covered in cool design-y papers then finished with non-toxic sealer stuff so the paper doesn't peel (my kids tried hard) the result is just stunning. Even Martha liked them enough to have them on her show.
The six small blocks make excellent playthings, but I love how the very substantial set of three large blocks can double as nursery decor, making it a really thoughtful baby gift at a great price. Hm, anyone I know having a baby these days? Oh yeah...Kristen. -Liz
